The Plaza Athenee Hotel is right in the center of Bangkok on Sukhumvit Road (close to it), the lobby was spacious and luxurious. The staff were professional and gave excellent service to us. On Sukhumvit youll have a great choice of restaurants and also an excellent shopping center was very close. It was called Central. Just 15 minutes to the business area and 10 minute to shopping area, it was very good reason. The room was great, very clean and spacious. the bed was soft and comfortable.

The Plaza Athenee deserves more attention than it gets. With so many world class hotels in Bangkok it might be no wonder but the Royal Meridien Plaza Athenee stands out with great service and rooms in a good location close to the skytrain. I stayed at the Oriental before and it was a great hotel but I didn’t really like the location as it was a bit to far from the city center even taking the skytrain. The facilities are also top notch with a nice swimming pool and good in-house dining options (then again, who wants to eat in the hotel when in Bangkok with so many great dining choices nearby). Being close to Sukhumvit one really has everything that Bangkok has to offer at ones doorstep. The Plaza Athenee was a great hotel and it is definitely up to par with the other big names like oriental, Sheraton etc.

The Plaza Athenee Bangkok is located in downtown of Bangkok. The hotel is within walking 5 minutes to the sky train that could take me to all the shopping malls and Chatuchak weekend market. The service and facility was excellent, all inclusive breakfast was fresh and great. Lots of varieties. I also tried the Thai restaurant and it was so really authentic taste of Thai food such as Green Curry, Tom Yum Kung and Pad Kraprao Kai.
