Chiang Mai, the Pearl of the North or the Rose of the North of Thailand, as it is often called, has made many travelers happy with its unforgettable landscapes, laid back city life and outdoor activities. The climate up in Chiang Mai is very bearable as the mountains area is not as hot as central or even South Thailand.
By plane, Chiang Mai can be reached in about an hour which is very convenient and not expensive. a flight to Chiang Mai can be had for already 1000 Baht one-way. This equals around 35 USD or 24 Euro.
Chiang Mai has always been famous for its locally crafted goods that are made of their highest quality Thai silk, wood and silver. They make the perfect souvenirs and are sold for more than reasonable prices. One of the main places where you can buy them is on the nigh market of Chiang Mai. It is a very popular activity to go shopping there. The night market is located in the city center and around it you will also find a lot of restaurants, bars and entertainment places.

Chiang Mai played host to the Ratchaphruek Flora Expo flower exhibition, one of the biggest ever held anywhere in the world in 2006/2007. It is becoming a major horticultural center in the region and worldwide.
Another activity popular in Chiang Mai is going bird watching with so many different types that are living in the wild here. As you can see, outdoor activities in Chiang Mai are plentiful. There are many different treks to walk, elephant rides to be taken, you can even go into the mountains on a motor-cross bike. Nevertheless, Chiang Mai is the second biggest city in Thailand, meaning that there also a lot of city activities to be done and a lot of shopping options are available. You get the best of both worlds. outside the city of Chiang Mai you can find real travel gems such as Doi Saket, Chiang Dao, Pai, Soppong, Mae Salong, Mae Hong Song, Chiang Saen and Mae Chaem.
Enjoy your stay here to the fullest and you will have an unforgettable time!
Koh Chang (or Elephant Island) is the third biggest island in Thailand just after Phuket and Koh Samui. Still, until recently it was hardly developed and didn’t seem to get the attention as the other mentioned islands. This had several reasons, the main one being that there was no airport which made it quite hard to access. Now that one is available, it is much easier to get to the island as you have the option of a 1 hour flight instead of a 5 hours bus ride coming from Bangkok. Since then, the island has changed to the better. There are better accommodations, more restaurants and entertainment but Koh Chang has still kept its secluded untouched ambiance that makes it so attractive. There are still many parts on this big island that are left untouched. Some selected and good Koh Chang Hotel deals are listed below:
Alina Resort Koh Chang from $29
Koh Chang Kacha Resort and Spa from $37
Chang Park Resort and Spa from $40
Sea View Resort Koh Chang from $55
Ramayana Koh Chang Resort from $55
Bhumiyama Beach Resort Koh Chang from $60
Koh Chang Cliff Beach Resort from $79
Aana Resort and Spa Koh Chang from $82
Koh Chang Tropicana Resort and Spa from $99
Amari Emerald Cove Resort Koh Chang from $136
When you arrive in Koh Chang you are greeted by an army of pick-up truck taxis that drive along the main road and drop you off at your desired beach. There are some activities that you can do on Koh Chang. Several diving spots invite for watching the marine life here. The island has numerous diving schools which organize trips to the best spots.
At night, there are several relaxed bars and some clubs, mostly at the beach where you can have a exotic cocktail at the beach or dance the night away.
The main beaches of Koh Chang are White Sand Beach, Khlong Prao Beach, Kai Bae Beach and Lonely Beach; All of these are located on the West Coast of Koh Chang. A very good place to visit is Wai Chek Beach in the southwest and Long Beach in the southeast of Koh Chang. Both of these beaches don’t have any accommodation on them yet which means that there are not many people here and th beaches are completely unspoiled. Here you can see the real beauty of Koh Chang.
