Starting from September 2006, Bangkok has a new International airport, the fantastic Suvarnabhumi Airport. It will completely replace the old Don Muang Airport. The latter will only continue to serve some charter flights but it will be phased out over the years.
Being located about 1 hour outside of Bangkok downtown, there is of coure a need for high quality airport hotels. The Novotel Suvarnabhumi Airport Hotel is the first to open for service. It is situated only a 5-minute walk away from the terminals. This is made possible by an underground walkway that links Suvarnabhumi Airport to the Novotel.

It’s right the new Suvarnabhumi International Airport is the main power of this hotel. No one can compite the location at 5 mn by work to the airport. The Novotel Suvarnabhumi Airport Hotel have definetly a strategic location.
Accor Group did a master 5-Star Hotel with 600 rooms in two square-shaped five-storey buildings, covering 10.5 hectares with large open atrium areas in the centre of each structure.
The New Novotel Suvarnabhumi Airport Hotel is a perfect place to transit.

considering that the suvarnabhumi airport is further away from Bangkok downtown than the old Don Muang Airport, it might lure a lot of people into staying here. It is a nice hotel, too so why not if you are on a short stopover?

Looks luxurious! But it quite far from downtown. I think go for business is better than for entertainment, shopping and sightseeing.

The Suvarnabhumi Airport and its surroundings, roads and highways looks beautiful especially at night with all the lights on. It is a bit further from the city than the old Don Muang Airport, but public transport is easily accessible. The New Novotel Suvarnabhumi Airport Hotel looks glamarous as well. I haven’t been inside, but it really does look good.

Just got back from BKK and had the pleasure to stay in the Novotel Suvarnabhumi, fantastic service, food choice and quality some of the best weve had in Thailand. Only 20 mins from town , but I believe there is a free shuttle from the airport itself downtown if req. Rooms are light very clean and had lots of nice touches, The hotel staff informed us the hotel was not quite completed yet but what was not done I don’t know as we only had a fleeting visit. Recommended for the weary traveller but a bit too far from the action for most people.
