Everybody has at least some idea about what to expect from the USA. We all know Disney, have seen at least some American movies and have eaten McDonalds or other fast food. Still, the first time coming to the USA is an exciting experience.

The USA is a big country with 50 states and each state can be as different as another country to visitors. Every state has its own unique character, people and life style. New York at the East Coast is on of the most popular destinations and the most impressive one indeed. Coming to Manhattan for the first time you will be astonished by the height, sophistication and sheer size of everything. No other place on earth can give you this feeling.

Because of the size of the USA, it is the third largest country measured by total area, every single climate zone is featured here somewhere. Tropical weather can be found in Hawaii and Florida, the other extreme would be arctic Alaska. To the North, the USA borders to Canada and in the South to Mexico. The United States of America is a country that has it all: deserts, the tallest skyscrapers, never ending coast lines, some of the most impressive National Parks and a melting pot of cultures from al around the world.

There are around 300 milion people living in the USA which makes it the third largest nation in the world by population. It has the strongest and biggest economy in the world.

The USA were founded mostly by immigrants from Europe from all kinds of different countries and people. Originally, the USA was created by 13 different colonies who declared their independence from the Britain. This diversity has stayed until today. The USA is one of the ethnically and culturally most diversified countries. During following years, the USA gained more and more land from Great Britain but also other countries such as Mexico, Spain, Russia or France.

1776, the USA declared Independence. The boundaries of the USA have not changed since 1853 except for Alaska and Hawaii. Today, the USA is the most powerful and influential society in the world, be it politically, culturally or economically.
