| Sanja Matsuri, or the Festival of Asakusa Shrine, dates back to the Edo period. In Tokyo, it was known as the wildest festival of all in Japan. It is held each year and lasts for 3 days. During this period it attracts around 1.5 million visitors each year, making it one of the biggest and most important festivals in the country.
