Singapore, Marvelous Luxury Hotels!

Visitors to Singapore will no doubt notice the large amount of luxury hotels present in this city-state. Singapore has long been targeting the upscale travel market and while taking a stroll down famous Orchard Road, other major avenues or the riverside you will be able to see quite a few glamorous luxury hotels.

The best known and oldest luxury hotel in Singapore is no doubt The Raffles. Playing a large part in Singapore’s history, it initially operated as a haven for the colonial rulers in a time when the city was no more than a transit port. After several makeovers, The Raffles stands today as a prime example of East meets West styles and attracts many visitors, not only to its marvelous suites, but to the world-famous Long Bar, the birthplace of the Singapore Sling.

For travelers looking for a more modern touch, the Ritz Carlton Singapore is another excellent establishment, well-known for its suites’ spectacular bathrooms with views of the city’s dizzying skyline.

Another classic favorite in Singapore is the Shangri-La, boasting features like a completely private wing and a 320+ square meter Presidential Suite – a palace fit for a king, and indeed many heads of state have enjoyed its lavish luxury.

No guide of Singapore luxury hotels would be complete without mentioning The Fullerton: occupying the former general post office, a grand neo-classic building, The Fullerton leaves nothing to be desired in terms of luxury room amenities, top-notch facilities for both business and leisure, and includes the bonus of a major night entertainment hub right next door.

Other major luxury hotels in Singapore include the recently renovated Mandarin Oriental, featuring all the lavish features guests have come to expect from the Mandarin Oriental Group, the Four Seasons Singapore, a quiet oasis in the bustling city center, as well as the usual range of international business hotels, such as the Hilton and Marriott.

All in all, visitors are truly spoilt for choice if seeking a luxury hotel in Singapore!
