Singapore Food & Culture Posted by Mr. Michael Comglas on 03 June 2006

Singapore has a global reputation for its fantastic cuisine. There is perhaps no other place in the entire world that offers such a range of delicious food in vastly differing settings. One could eat noodles from a street-stall followed by dinner in a fabulously expensive restaurant in sumptuous surroundings. Singapore's busy streets are packed full of places where a visitor can sample Asian, Middle-Eastern, European and Indian food. As with many Asian countries, mealtimes are perfect opportunities for families to meet up or for friends to catch up on each-others’ lives. It is an atmosphere where travellers can feel instantly welcome.
Singapore and her culturally diverse inhabitants are rightly proud of their modern, functional country. It offers all that makes modern city living so appealing. Whatever the needs of the modern traveller, all of them can be met and exceeded by this jewel in Asia’s crown. But perhaps it is those sights not so obvious that really make it such a special place. Step off the beaten track slightly and world of tastes, smells and sensory delight awaits you.
