Looking for a fantastic place to spend New Year's Eve 2006-2007? Let me tell you something.
Singapore can be just what you're looking for. Like
Hong Kong New Year's Eve celebrations, Singapore also has big events for Western New Year and Chinese New Year. There are so many choices available for
New Year's Eve 2006-2007 in this small city you'll be amazed and believe me, it won't just be another year of countdown. Unlike other cities, most places in Singapore on New Year's Eve are free of charge or costs a very small amount, therefore, the only major expenditures are accommodation, food and leisure.
Singapore's
Time Square at Suntec City is the main hotspot for the country's New Year Eve's celebrations. From a financial convention centre complex,
Suntec City is transformed on December 31st. Hundreds of travelers will surround to watch a neon light, laser lighting and sparklers as the clock approaches midnight. Vibrant music fills the outdoor space, dominated by the largest man-made fountain in the world located in the centre of the complex, which is said to bring success and wealth to all.
The
Siloso Splash at
Siloso Beach on
Sentosa Island also celebrates New Year's Eve with great charm. The evening starts at 7 pm and lasts till 6 am on January 1st of the new year. Guess how much the ticket is. It costs only S$12. This event will have pumping music all night with a multitude of laser and visual effects. The beach party will also feature serveral DJs, foam party and fireworks display at midnight.
If this is not your kind of place, celebrate
New Year's Eve 2006-2007 at the
Sky Symphony at the Jewel Box on Mount Faber. The event starts at 7 pm and there will be six different celebrations this year.
Marina Bay is another option for celebrating New Year's Eve with the theme "A Wish for a Better Tomorrow." Crowds gather along the
Esplanade, the state-of-the-art performing arts centre shaped like two microphones from 7 pm till 1 am over the
Marina Bay to enjoy the stunning views of the huge fireworks on New Year's Eve. This event is free of charge and it has become a yearly tradition in Singapore, where people can write their wishes for 2007 on pieces of paper and let them flutter on the event's Bell Charms. If not the Esplanade, then join thousands of people on the water front at
Mardi Gras at
Clark Quay on New Year's Eve, where there will be plenty of music, dance and shows from 8 pm onwards, with no admission fee.
Singapore Hotelsl located on Orchard Road, Little India, Clark Quay or Sentosa Island are the best areas to spend
