Chinatown Heritage Center or CHC. This place is joined between two Boards contained, Singapore Tourism Board and National Heritage Board. Chinatown Heritage is located in three newly restored shophouses along Pagoda Street. Chinatown Heritage Center is noticed as the center of Chinese memories...history which had not been told. Chinatown Heritage Center opened on July, 12th 2002. The place is divided in many different parts with each part taking you to different times in the history of Chinatown. There are mainly 3 levels in the center. Level one is contained by Retail Shop which it displays such as typical outlets and Kopitiam is a coffee Chinatown way. Level two is to experience the lives of the migrants in the early years which is contained by Si Lat Po, and Four Evils consists smoking, prostitution, gambling, and secret societies. Level three is showcasing the golden years of Chinatown. Chinatown Heritage Center as well holds some interesting events for visitors can join such as vanishing Chinatown Trades and Special Promotion. In the event by a day time, visitors will be able to find varieties of market stalls as wares, meat, fruits, and vegetables. Also, some kind as artisans and traditional craftsmen are in the event. In the event by a night time, there are full of colorful characters and attractive performances displayed. Chinatown Heritage Center is situated just on Pagoda Street which the best way for visitors should take is subway to City Hall Station (EW13/NS25), then transfer to Chinatown Station (NE4). Visitors can also take buses number 1, 80, or 197 from North Bridge Road. Chinatown Heritage admission fee is SGD 8.80 for adult and SGD 5.30 for child. The place opens daily from Monday to Sunday including Holidays during 9.00 am to 8.00 pm. Visitors should take around almost 2 hours approximately to take a tour around the place.
