The latest timetable for the 2008 FORMULA 1™ SingTel Singapore Grand Prix has been released.
Although the schedule is still subject to change, ticket holders are in for an exciting long weekend with something in store for all.
The Formula One™ drivers will race under the lights for the first time in the inaugural practice session on Friday, 26th September 2008, at 1900hrs. The second practice session is currently scheduled at 2130hrs.
The last Formula One™ practice session on Saturday will now run from 1900hrs, with the qualifying session starting at 2200hrs. The final race on Sunday remains at 2000hrs.
On top of the Formula One races, spectators can also catch three other races from about 1500hrs daily, namely; the Aston Martin Asia Cup, Formula BMW Pacific, and Porsche Carrera Cup Asia.
A new addition to the weekend schedule is the introduction of a fourth activity, the Fiat 500 Charity Challenge. Further details will be released shortly.
Twenty five (25) vintage and classic cars from the Malaysia & Singapore Vintage Car Register has also been confirmed for the Drivers’ Parade on Sunday, an important part of the Formula One™ tradition where the race drivers will be driven around the circuit before the start of the race. The lead car will be a 1926 Rolls Royce Connaught Tourer that arrived in Singapore on 25th June 1926, and has remained in the region for the last 82 years.
On the ticketing front, of the 100,000 tickets available per day, less than 1,000 three-day grandstand tickets are now left, with all walkabout tickets completely sold out. Limited seats are currently available at the following grandstands: Turn 1, Turn 2, Padang, Esplanade Premier, Singapore Flyer and Connaught.
Tickets can be purchased through the official 2008 FORMULA 1™ SingTel Singapore Grand Prix website, www.singaporegp.sg, or by calling our ticketing hotline at +65 6738 6738.
