Zoukout 2006: Come on down to South East Asia’s biggest and most important music festival on the 9th of December 2006. Zoukout was created by the people who also brought the Zouk Club Singapore to you, probably the most famous club in South Easy Asia and one of the biggest in the world. With constant success, Zouk has become one of the leading forces in Asia.

Zoukout is a music festival that is held once a year in December on Sentosa Island Singapore. This means that everybody should bring beach shorts and a T-shirt and not much more. The weather during this tie of the year in Singapore is warm to hot. Last year it also brought some showers but this didn’t go on forever and it didn’t disturb the good and friendly atmosphere of the whole event. Around 20000 people are expected to show up from all around the world, especially from around Asia of course.

Zoukout last year has won the prestigious Singapore Tourism Awards 2005 for the best leisure event experience. This year Zoukout will be back stronger than ever with 4 music arenas spanning 56,000 square feet all on Sentosa Beach. There will be something for everybody from live bands playing alternative, indie and other rock music but there are also many DJ’s playing all kinds of music styles including hip hop, progressive, techno, house and many others. Also, Zouk Clubs very own and unique Mabo Jambo will have its feature. The latter is a very Singapore unique feature and has to be seen when you are there.
All acts are coming from Singapore, Asia and the rest of the world, making Zoukout 2006 a truly international festival.
From Singapore, people will be able to see the local heroes such as Electrico, Plain Sunset, Astreal and the Great Spy Experience.
From Bangkok, the band Futon will be playing as well as Star’s Don’t Fall from Australia.

On the DJ side it loos just as interesting as for the bands with many international super stars coming to Zoukout 2006. These include Ferry Corsten, 2ManyDJs, Steve Lawler, Soulwax, Niteversions, Jazzy Jeff, Matthew Dekay, The Cuban Brothers, Ben Sims, DJ Pippi, Kerri Chandler, Aldrin, Andrew Chow, Brendon P, DJ B, Jeremy Boon, Tony Tay, Sonny and Mambo Jambo.

The Zoukout 2006 festival will start at 20:00 and run until 08:00 the next day. So there is enough time to see al of the acts.

The following is stated by the organizers to be essential for the festival:

1. Bring your ID Card, without a proper photo ID you will not be able to get into the festival.
2. Bring credit card and / or cash. Both can be used inside.
3. No video cameras are allowed, so leave them at home.
4. Raincoat or windbreaker is advisable (although last year this was not really necessary although it rained at times, the weather was warm enough)
5. No outside food or drinks are allowed on the festival.
Bring mosquito repellant.
6. It is recommended that you come in beach wear, Shorts and T-Shirt are enough.
7. Also, sandals and a towel might be useful things to bring.
