Salzburg is one of the old towns in Austria which is located on the banks of the Salzack River in western of Austria. The city is approximately 300 km from Vienna and 150 km east of Munich. Having 520,000 populations in town does not make Salzburg crowded but lively by the way local people live. Also Salzburg is known as the birthplace of Mozart and that is interesting enough to draw load of tourists’ attention to visit the city each year. As Salzburg artists in historic costumes perform works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, there is a museum in Salzburg where you can gain more information about this Salzburg’s famous son together. There are also world famous events and concerts which are hold at the museum to attract the visitors during their trip in Salzburg. Things you should not miss when you are there are skiing (even though Salzburg itself does not have any skiing facilities) and the Untersberg Mountain which straddles the German – Austrian border. Shopping in Salzburg is a must as it is Austria’s most attractive shopping centre. Transportation in quite convenient in Salzburg since the city provides rail connections with frequent east – west trains servicing Vienna, Munich, Innsbruck and Zurich. The city also acts as a hub for south – bound trains through the Alps into Italy. Salzburg provides a wide range of accommodation to lodge the visitors.
