The tallest peak in Phuket is Mai Tao Sip Song (twelve cane peak in English). it stands at 529 meters and is part of the series of mountains and valleys running mainly from north - South and covering approximately 70 percent of the island. The other 30 percent is mainly flat plain and is located in the center and eastern side of phuket. Phuket has no major rivers, but includes nine brooks and creeks. The coastline includes sandy bays,cliffs, rocky headlands and several small estuaries and lagoons. Phuket is the largest Island in Thailand and including an additional 32 islands within its province it covers a total of 570 square kilometers. At its widest it is about 21 kilometers across and about 48 kilometers in length. It is divided into three administrative regions called Amphoe Muang, Amphoe Thalang and Amphoe Kathu. To its North Phuket borders Phang-Nga province and is connected by the Sarrasin Bridge and the Thao Thep Krassattri Bridge spanning the Pahk Prah Channel. On Phukets Eastern side facing the mainland is the bay of Phang-nga, and to its South and West lies the Andaman Sea.
