San Agustin Church is the oldest stone church located in the capital city Manila, Philippines. San Agustin Church was built between 1587 – 1606. It is the first European stone church designed in Spanish architectural style which is situated in an Asian country here in Manila. It is places of the Spanish conquistadors, Miguel Lopez de Legazpi, Juan de Salcedo, and Martin de Goiti who are buried in a tomb under the church. Augustinians who are people found this, San Agustin remained. It says that the present structure is the third to stand on the site and has survived seven major earthquakes, as well the wars in Manila. This is the great story marked. San Agustin Church is for Manila visitors interested in history, culture and architecture. San Agustin Church has 14 side chapels and trompe-l’oeil ceiling. Trompe-l’oeil murals are the features as well as vaulted ceiling and dome. There is a small museum run by Augustinians order which the features are antique vestments, colonial furniture, and religious paintings and icons. Other three ancient together was designated a World Heritage Site in 1993. Walking is the best way to explore this historical and cultural place. Recommended time to tour is an entire day. San Agustin is known as the mother of all Philippine colonial churches. San Agustin Church actually can be more than just an architectural place to enjoy. As it is mentioned before, this place can be the grand place to explore historical of that architectural built as well as the cultural of the church runs which is in Philippines traditional. San Agustin Church’s admission fee costs P45. The church opens daily from 7 pm to 7.30 pm, and 5 pm to 6 pm. For the museum is available daily during 9 am to noon, and 1 pm to 5 pm. Public transportations are available and an easier way for tourists as it is in the center and capital city. Buses can be one of ways to reach and cheaper. Driving by your own for locals are mostly done.
