Mandalay is the second largest city in Myanmar, situated in the north of Yangon, Myanmar on the Ayeyarwaddy River. Mandalay looks like a big village more than the city. There is no skyline, and there are still some dirt roads in the ancient city of Myanmar. The city is surrounded by nature offering to the tourists.
The last royal city of Myanmar, Mandalay is also the centre for crafts, dance and music. Also Mandalay, Myanmar is an important river port, the start of the overland route to China and a big market centre for the surrounding area.
In the city of Mandalay, Myanmar offer many attractive places such as Shwe Nandaw Kyaung Temple, Mandalay Fort, Maha Aung Myae Bonzan Monastery, U Bein's bridge, Minguin Paya, Marionette theatre and Mandalay Hill.
Mandalay Hill is one of the popular attractions in Mandalay. Tourists that travel in Mandalay usually go to this place. The Mandalay Hill is also the landmark of Mandalay and overlooking the city. On the top of the hill travelers can relax with fresh and natural surrounding and Su Taung Pyi Pagoda, Myanmar style architecture.
Not only the Mandalay’s city, tourists can enjoy the attractions around the city also. The famous attractive place is Pyin Oo Lwin. Pyin Oo Lwin is not one of the most Burmese towns of Myanmar. Owing to its prevalent cooler climate the town served the British as a refuge from the summer's heat. Pyin Oo Lwin's summer villas were built in typical English brick masonry style. Moreover, the cooler climate of Pyin Oo Lwin allows cultivation of European fruit and vegetables, which today is Pyin Oo Lwin's most important business branch in Mandalay, Myanmar.
Beside Pyin Oo Lwin, other attractions in Mandalay such as Mingun, Sagaing, Ava and Amarapura are offered to the travelers when visit Mandalay, Myanmar.
