The Jade Market, Hong Kongis located on the junction of Battery Street and Kansu Street in Yau Ma Tei, It is very famous for jade collector and jade lover and jade have great spiritual value to the Chinese. The creatures are supposed to bring health, love and prosperity. Jade Market is an old warehouse market to trade in jade. The stalls carry jade rings, necklaces, bracelets and amulets carved in symbolic shapes, in varying shades of lush green to white. The best time to go is the morning. Open 10am – 3.30pm daily. The Jade Market is made up of two open-sided buildings that are packed with small shops and card tables covered in jewelry, antiques and pearls. Over 450 small shops sell a range of jade pieces from precious and pricey carvings. Jade comes in many colors such as bright green, white, yellowish brown and there is even purple jade. The prices differ as much as the colors. Jade is pure green and very expensive, but you can find jade that is not pure or with some yellow tinge. Semi-transparent jadeite is considered the best while opaque ones with cloudy patches typically have less value. The Jade Market is a good place to look for pearls. This is a fun place to browse and to buy an inexpensive memento of your visit, but think twice about buying anything costly unless you are a jade expert. The Jade market, here not have only local people, it is the famous attraction for foreigner such as China, Taiwan and Thailand because there are also plenty of souvenirs at much lower prices.
