Hong Kong lacks the slick hygiene that Singapore offers .. Posted by Mr.Michael Comglas on 19 June 2006 American Nationality |
On the street level most peoples' way of life has changed little and Hong Kong is still a frenzy of hedonistic capitalism. Hong Kong lacks the slick hygiene that Singapore offers but instead has an atmosphere of unrestrained freedom and diversity. No other city in Asia has the same level of relentless energy that you find here. Hong Kong scores well in global measures of business freedom, and except the odd scandal or rumours of official corruption it is an ideal business environment. It is hard to think of a less communist place than here. The pace of the mad dog eat dog economy is unrestrained and unrelenting. Hong Kong Island has very steep terrain, forcing 90 percent of the population to live in 15 percent of the land space. This has created the highest population density in the world. It turn this has created a world of high risers, with some of the highest buildings in the world. The only direction left to accommodate Hong Kong’s growth is upwards. The capital of Hong Kong Island is Victoria. Formed by near vertical streets, climbing halfway up Victoria Peak. Victoria peak at a height of 556 meters is one of the only places that contain some detached housing. It is an area for the truly wealthy to build their mansions.
