In general people in China can follow what ever .. Posted by Mr.Michael Comglas on 02 August 2006 American Nationality |
In Hong Kong and the rest of China its citizens are free to practice there chosen religion. The constitution of China specifies that no public or state organisation or individual should interfere with another individuals chosen belief. In general people in China can follow what ever belief system they chose so long as they toe the government line and follow the nation rules and laws. All religions are equal (as are the people who follow them) and the individual can accept or reject each at their will. The government will protect the individual’s rights and it is up to the religious organisations are being autonomous and self contained. The government will stay out of religion so long as religion stays out of politics.
