Superbly located in the South of Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City or Saigon as it was known before the Vietnam War is one of the most important commercial and tourists center in Vietnam, and it is the second most important in Vietnam after the capital of Ha Noi. The location of Ho Chi Minh lies between the northern edge of the Mekong Delta and the South Eastern region of volcanic red soil. “Pearl of the Orient” was known as an important trade center for Chinese, Japanese and Western merchants. It had also been christened the “Paris of Asia” for its wide boulevards lined with the stately trees and magnificent French villas. Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam is the one of historical cities in South East Asia; therefore, the city offers museums to travelers visiting. The museums are in Ho Chi Minh City such as Ho Chi Minh Museum, Viet Nam Historical Museum and War Remnants Museum. One of the most famous attractive places in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam is The Cu Chi Tunnels - historical vestiges of Vietnam's national liberation war. Inside of The Cu Chi Tunnels are fighting posts, kitchens, food and ammunition storage caches, medic care chambers, meeting chambers, commanding chambers as well as living quarters which enabled guerillas to held on to the land and fight for years. Moreover, local and foreign tourists can visit the cultural attractive places in Ho Chi Minh City - touching the new experience between Western culture and Eastern culture. There are Notre Dame Cathedral, Vinh Nghiem Pagoda, Giac Lam Pagoda and Thien Hau Temple. Before you leave the Pearl of the Orient city, you can visit Ben Thanh Market to buy some souvenirs for your friends or your family. The Ben Thanh Market is one of the busiest spots in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Everything for daily use, from living fish and fresh fruit to souvenirs and electronic appliances, can be found here. The market is close to the city's life that the clock tower at its main gate has long been considered a symbol of the city.
