Temple of Heaven or it is called in Chinese as Tiantan. Temple of Heaven is a place for visiting Beijing in China. The place is bigger than the Forbidden City and smaller than the Summer Palace. The area of Temple of Heaven is about 2,700,000 square meters and it was established in 1420. Temple of Heaven is one in first five temples built in Beijing.

Temple of Heaven is contained with three main groups of constructions with white marble which are the Earthly Mount, the House of Heavenly Lord, and the Hall of Annual Prayer. The Earthly Mount is an empty platform on three levels of marble stones. The House of Heavenly Lord is a single-gabled circular building. The Hall of Annual Prayer is triple-gabled circular building, the four posts along the inner circle displays four seasons of spring, summer, autumn, and winter, the twelve posts along the middle circle displays twelve months, and twelve posts along the outer circle display twelve Shichen which this word in Chinese means counting time in ancient China.

Temple of Heaven is surrounding by walls and there are thousand species of old trees covered the place. The place attracts tourists in every year of course, but as well the locals come to the place just to take away from it all and practice their concentrations, music, opera, and else. Admission Fee is CNY 30 during November to March and CNY 35 during April to October. It is opened daily from 6.00 to 20.00 anyway. Taking at least one and a half hour is the best to take a tour around.

Temple of Heaven is just situation not far away and it is just close to the center of Beijing. There are public transportations which visitors can easily take from the center of Beijing to the place with only a while taking. Taxi is the best way recommended as it is both comfortable and convenient to get over the place from the center. Several numbers of buses are available as well, but it is not that convenient to the place.
