Siam Ocean World Bangkok: Biggest Aquarium in South East Asia

Siam Ocean World is situated at Siam Square area inside the Siam Paragon shopping center. It is the largest Aquarium in all of South East Asia and covers 2 levels of a vast amount of species. To be exact, more than 400 species of sea living organisms are present at the Siam Ocean World.

What is the real special thing about Siam Ocean World is the way it is set up. There is one way to walk through and you can walk at your own pace, there is no time limitation for visitors.

The walk way will take you through 7 different areas that are:

1. Weird and Wonderful

Fish and other marine life shown here are all of a very unique nature. See the beautiful and just strange and bizarre creatures of the sea.

2. Open Ocean

Open Ocean features a wide range of different species in their rebuilt natural habitat.

3. Deep reef

A very special area at Siam Ocean World as it features different types of coral reefs and shows how important they are to thousands of other species.

4. Rainforest

Learn about the interrelationships between animals and plants. Also, see some of the biggest fresh-water fish on this planet.

5. Rocky Shore

This area is dedicated to the animals that live in the difficult habitat in the shore zone.

6. Living Ocean

The Living ocean area explores the basic rules of sea life such as finding food, escaping predators and reproduction.

7. Sea Jellies

Find out why this "brainless" creature is such an interesting species to get to know.

Part of the Siam Ocean World Aquarium is the Under Ocean Tunnel which is basically a acrylic pipe that leads directly through a huge basin of water. This way, when you walk through, you are nearly surrounded by water and the fish in it. This is an amazing feeling and only the best aquariums in the world feature such a tunnel.
Another highlight is a panoramic Oceanarium that gives you a 360 degrees view of one of the basins that is 10.5 meters in diameter, an impressive size.
Furthermore, Siam Ocean World features a deep reef tank where one can understand how different kinds of coral reefs adapt themselves to their habitats. This is very interesting and is one of the most popular attractions at Siam Ocean World.

The marine animals featured at the aquarium include sharks, sea dragons, giant spider crabs and even penguins.

Siam Ocean World is a fun and exciting attraction for old and young in Bangkok and should definitely not be missed. It has been very successful since its opening about 1.5 years ago and this comes for a good reason. Enjoy!

The admission price of Siam Ocean World is 280 Baht for children that are 80-120 cm tall. Adults pay 450 Baht.
