Pratunam is one of the most famous areas in Bangkok. Several things can be found here. For one, there is of course the incredibly popular Pantip Plaza, Bangkok's prime shopping mekka when it comes to computers, electronics and software. But that is not all what you can find in Pratunam.
One of the best reasons to go there is the Pratunam Market. This is quite a special place because this is not a normal market but more of a factory outlet for many locally producing companies. Many times you will find clothing here that you cannot buy in this form in shops. Most importantly, the prices are very low. You can make some excellent deals here on trousers, T-Shirts, pullovers and much more. From Pantip Plaza it is in easy reach and just a short walk away.

Pratunam is a big agglomeration of hotels in all kinds of classes. Hotels that are located in Pratunam include the Indra Regent, Amari Watergate, Baiyoke Sky, Arnoma, Bangkok Palace, Grand Diamond Pratunam and the PJ Watergate just to name a few.

The Baiyoke Sky Hotel for example is housed in the talles building in Thailand. The hotel has a restaurant that is on the top of the building, providing a fantastic view over Bangkok city. It is even possible to go on the very top as there is a viewing platform that slowly turns around so you can enjoy the view from all sides.

Another well known and established Pratunam hotel is the Indra Regent Hotel. The Indra is situated in the heart of Pratunam and provides quality accommodation for very reasonable prices. The location is absolutely perfect for any tourist and it couldn't be more central. Siam Square is close and the skytrain is a 5 minute walk from the hotel. For people on a smaller budget, the Arnoma is a great choice in Pratunam.
