Le Banyan – Sukhumvit Soi 8, 02253 5556 – An established French restaurant it offers a range of excellent dishes and a good wine selection, the prices are reasonable and the ambiance superb.

Angelini – Shangri-La Hotel, 02236 7777 – One of the best Italian restaurants in Bangkok it has won a number of awards, but beware that it has a price tag to match its reputation.

Café Swiss – Convent road, Silom, 02233 5345 – This restaurant offers some excellent Swiss cuisine, including fondue, salmon, steak and raclette.

Tamarind Café – Sukhumvit Soi 20, 02663 7421 – An all vegetarian restaurant it offers an inspired range of dishes with a mix of many cultures. The décor is also regularly changed and even the most carnivorous of patrons will enjoy the food here.

Le Beaulieu – Sofitel residence, Sukhumvit Soi 19, 02202 2004 – A new French restaurant it has proved to be very popular, with a good range of delicious food and excellent wine list.

Govindas – Sukhumvit Soi 22, 02663 4970 – Here you can watch your pizza being prepared and the taste is just a little better for it. With a very innovative menu this is some of the best pizza on offer in Bangkok.

Marche – Sukhumvit Soi 24, President Park Complex, 02661 1111 – A micro brewery and huge bistro that serves a large range of freshly prepared food from all over the world.

Rib Room – Landmark Hotel, Sukhumvit Road, 02254 0404 – Fantastic prime rib with a superb skyline view, sadly prices are sky high too, but still a great place for the hungry carnivore.

Oh My God – Soi Rambuttri, Banglampoo – The restaurant is very laid back but serves some of the best fish and chips in Bangkok. A member of the British federation of Fish Fryers they also offer excellent English breakfasts. The food is British and Thai in theme and very reasonably priced.
