Boutique Hotels in Asia: The new wave of Asian design hotels Posted by Mr.John Pfahl on 19 December 2006 German Nationality |
Boutique Hotel must be one of the most overused terms of this decade. It is not easy to define anymore what a Boutique Hotel actually is with so many hotels using it. So what makes any accommodation a Boutique Hotel? What is a Boutique Hotel? The first thing that comes to mind is the size of it. A boutique hotel can only be called such if it stays below a certain size. A hotel with more than 100 rooms maximum cannot be called a Boutique Hotel anymore. These types of accommodations base their name on a more personalized service experience that cannot be offered at large scale establishments. Also, another highly important factor for a boutique hotel is a certain type of ambiance. This includes things such as the right choice of decor, the right theme, the right service among several other factors. When I say theme, that means that most boutique hotels in Asia have a certain type they will follow. Many boutique hotels create their themes around an idea or design concept that is unique. This is one thing that all boutique hotels in Asia have in common. They want a stylish and very unique design. Excellent examples for this are the Dream Hotel Bangkok in Bangkok or the Hotel 1929 in Singapore or the Davis Hotel Bangkok all of which feature designs that you will see nowhere else. Boutique Hotels in Asia attract a rather young and trendy crowd and normally come as better 3 to 5 star luxury hotels. A boutique hotel in Asia can give you an intimate feel that cannot be matched by most bigger hotels. This includes features such as highly personalized, professional service. A boutique hotel prides itself in knowing what a guest wants. If you are looking for a different hotel experience, then a boutique hotel might be the right choice for you.
