Holland Festival 2007: Opera, Theatre, Music, Dance and Visual Arts at its Best Posted by Mr.David Miller on 17 May 2007 German Nationality |
The Holland Festival 2007 is one of the biggest of its kind in the Netherlands. It is held each year and comprises a large amount of performance of a very diversified kind. In 2007 it is the 60th time that the Holland Festival is held as it has been in existence since 1947. About 80 performances are to be seen throughout the festival and those include shows from the fields of opera, dance, theatre, music but also visual arts and other media. Some of the venues of this year are still to be announced but will include a wide range depending on the type of show. The Holland Festival is renowned for its innovative and trend-setting approach of the presented arts and it is the absolute cultural highlight of the year. There are many classical performances to come but the festival includes arts, music and dance from all kinds of areas: You can listen to classical music just as well as pop music, one can see a stage drama or a modern interpretation of an opera. Another interesting part of the festival is that not only the well established artists are performing but also the ones who are not (yet) well known. Many young artists have become more popular and better known through the Holland Festival. Tickets can be bought at Stadsschouwburg which acts as the center of the festival. Ticket prices depend strongly on if you are a student, how old you are etc. There are many different reductions available. The most expensive ticket costs 70 EUR. Besides being able to visit one of Europe's finest festivals, you are also in one of the most exciting cities on this continent. Amsterdam has a lot to offer in terms of culture, dining, entertainment and nightlife. You can for example find more detailed information here on Amsterdam Museums. Some of the Amsterdam that you could book for the Holland Festival 2007 are the following: ACH Trianon Hotel Amsterdam (2 stars) Acro Hotel Amsterdam (2 stars) Acca International Hotel Amsterdam (3 stars) ACH Leidse Square Hotel Amsterdam (2 stars) Amstel Botel Hotel Amsterdam (3 stars)
