Modern
Amsterdam is one of the hippest and most trendy cities in Europe. It attracts a wide range of people from all walks of lives and countries. The Netherlands have always been a country that is very tolerant and liberal, especially immigration, which makes it a very multiethnic country with Amsterdam as its biggest city.
Amsterdam Hotels can be exclusive, casual, luxurious or budget oriented, all depending on your taste and requirements. Also don't forget to check out

Especially in the center of Amsterdam, you can find many classical buildings that make for a very unique city picture.
Amsterdam has the biggest historical inner city of any city in Europe.
Amsterdam can be fun during all seasons but it has especially many nice places to relax during the warm summer days. This includes for example the Vondelpark, a park where Amsterdamers just as well as tourists like to chill out in the afternoon where sometimes there are even small concerts and several bars and beer gardens invite for sitting and enjoying the sun.
Furthermore,
Amsterdam is a city of shopping. It is a lot of fun to go window shopping at the many small shops in the city but it also has just as many modern shopping centers if you prefer that.
One of Amsterdam's biggest attractions is the (in)famous red light district. The area covers some canals and the streets in between them and you will find many peep shows, adult shops and brothels. The area has a heavy police presence and it is no problem to go and have a look as many travelers do.
Another (in)famous attraction are the many so-called coffee shops spread around the city. As mentioned earlier, Holland is a very liberal country and this also reflects in its soft-drug policy. In these coffee shops you can buy from everything from Marijuana cakes, cookies and the substance itself which all can be consumed legally.
Nightlife in the Dutch capital is renowned for its variety and innovative clubs, bars, lounges and others. These places open close very late (or early in the morning that is) and it is common to go out quite late compared to other countries.
Finally,
Amsterdam is a great city for doing business. It is often called the gateway to Europe for good reason. There are an abundance of International companies that have their headquarters stationed in Amsterdam because of its attractive location and easy access to the rest of Europe.
For whatever reason you travel to Amsterdam, you will find many interesting things to do and see.
