Hotel Overview
The Oriental Hotel in Singapore is deservedly one of the world's top hotels. What sets it apart from others is the attention to detail that it is known for. When you stay in this hotel you will of course get the usual facilities one would associate with a 5-star hotel, but that's not all: from gold thread woven into the wall fabrics, to the fantastic panoramic view from each room in the hotel and the carefully selected soothing combination of colors, a stay at the Singapore Oriental will be made unforgettable.
Depending on the room you're in, you can get a view of the marina, the harbor, the ocean or the city skyline. The rooms have been recently refurbished in a soft palette of colors and are 449 in number, to which 78 suites are added and, for the ultimate travel connoisseurs, there is the Oriental Club, a place of privacy and highest level of personalized service.
The spa focuses on physical and mental well-being and sets itself apart with such amenities as a shiatsu massage room, a special couple's suite and a private relaxation lounge.

Hotel Rooms
The Oriental Singapore's rooms have been newly refurbished to offer luxurious contemporary living conditions, but with a color palette and materials designed to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Details such as gold thread woven in the wall fabrics and beautiful flowers which are refreshed every day are sure to offer an excellent accommodation experience.
City View
Located on levels 6 to 17, with excellent views of the city skyline through floor-length windows or from the balcony. These newly appointed rooms are especially spacious and you can choose between a Deluxe City room or the larger Grand City room with a separate sitting area.
Ocean View
Enjoy the spectacular sunsets and watch the ships pass by. You have a choice of either the Deluxe Ocean rooms on floors 6 to 10 with views of the serene blue water, or for a clearer view of the distant Pulau Ubin islands, guests can stay on the higher floors 11 to 17 in the Premier Ocean rooms.
Harbor View
From the luxurious comfort of the Harbor View Rooms one may gaze down on the busy industry of Singapore harbor as ships traverse Marina Bay. There is a choice between the Deluxe Harbor rooms on floors 6 to 10 for a panoramic view of Singapore and Premier Harbor rooms on the higher floors 11 to 17. Through the floor-length windows one may enjoy the sweep of city skyline and the superb structure of The Esplanade Theatre on the bay.

If I am not watching my budget my hotel preference in many cities is the mandarin oriental. However in Hong Kong I prefer the Shangri La Kowloon.
