The hotel of my stay here in Chile was "San Martin", it was a gift from my father to my husband and I. I was not satisfied with the service at all. My reason is because the manager and some staff members made me feel uncomfortable in the way of not giving the right information at first and upfront. First, my father paid for everything as a gift.He called from the USA & spoke with a lady name Natalia from the hotel assisting over the phone and he asked her if he could pay by phone and reserve it, she said there's no problem so my father gave her his credit card # and his info. over the phone. He called again in the morning of Jan. 5, 08 before me checking in, to confirm if everything was ok, the other lady ( I don't recall her name) told him yes. She told him one price before & different information before and at the time of my arrival they tell me something way different. THE LADIES ASSISTING OVER THE PHONE DID NOT GIVE THE RIGHT INFORMATION. So a misunderstanding/confusion happened that made my husband and I feel very uncomfortable. Then the manager didn't know what he was talking about. My father reserved in other countries like Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Spain, etc. and he never had a problem like we had here in this hotel in Chile. This hotel is very complicated. The service was not that good either. I believe the people working in San Martin Hotel should be trained more starting from the manager to the reception.The solution was faxing over to the USA a sheet with my father's info. on it and my father faxed it back to the manager. That's how he paid. In the USA we pay over the phone and we get a confirmation number and have the bank record as our part. Well, it will be the first and last time coming to this hotel. |
