I am a picky person when it comes to the hotels where I stay but there was not much to complain about in the Island Shangri-La Hong Kong. Sure. There is a lot of competition on the luxury hotel market but this one stands out. The rooms are large compared to Hong Kong standards (which normally is smaller than elsewhere).
Bathrooms are great and spacious, too. Overall, the rooms are very well appointed and were a pleasure to stay in. The only thing which was not so great in the hotel are the restaurants. I only tried on, the Summer Palace restaurant and it was a bit overpriced. Not that the food wasn’t good but (like in many other hotels) it is just too expensive. Especially considering that in the mall connected to the Shangri-La you can find a lot of better options. Otherwise a great hotel and highly recommended. Location, service, rooms and facilities were all top notch. |
