The Plaza Athenee deserves more attention than it gets. With so many world class hotels in Bangkok it might be no wonder but the Royal Meridien Plaza Athenee stands out with great service and rooms in a good location close to the skytrain.
I stayed at the Oriental before and it was a great hotel but I didn’t really like the location as it was a bit to far from the city center even taking the skytrain.
The facilities are also top notch with a nice swimming pool and good in-house dining options (then again, who wants to eat in the hotel when in Bangkok with so many great dining choices nearby).
Being close to Sukhumvit one really has everything that Bangkok has to offer at ones doorstep. The Plaza Athenee was a great hotel and it is definitely up to par with the other big names like oriental, Sheraton etc. |
