The Baiyoke Sky is definitely a special hotel in Bangkok as it is located in the tallest building that Bangkok has. The Baiyoke Tower is located in Pratunam which is quite close to Siam Square. The latter is Bangkok’s prime shopping area with many of the biggest shopping malls in South East Asia.
My room was situated on the 72nd floor with an amazing view. The restaurant of the hotel is located on the 78th floor and provides the most fantastic view over Bangkok that I have ever witnessed. Even if you don’t stay at the Baiyoke you should go up there one time for lunch or dinner.
Another good thing was that the Pantip Plaza shopping center was just around the corner. It is a specialized computer and electronics center that really sells everything that you can think of. They had some excellent new gadgets from Japan that I had never seen yet in Europe.
For excursions into Bangkok, the Baiyoke Sky is at the perfect location, providing easy access to all major areas of Bangkok.
For the 6 nights that me and my wife stayed there, we were completely satisfied.
