I stayed at the Peninsula Hotel in Bangkok when I was on a 2 day stopover from Singapore to Shanghai. I got the Peninsula recommended by a friend who said its at least as good as the Oriental and he was completetely satisfied.
I had great expectations and I was not disappointed. Even though the building is not really the most beautiful from the outside (it's a bit of a concrete block), upon entering you are overwhelmed with luxury and class. Everything seemed perfect. The staff was excellent, gave me a warm welcome and throughout my stay I never had any complains. Rooms were very nicely furnished and had all the amenities I could think of.
The location is another plus for the Peninsula. It is directly located at the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok and just across of the Oriental Hotel. There are Asian style boats available from the Peninsula that bring you over the river where you have direct access to the Skytrain, one of Bangkok's mass transit systems.
Overall, a very satisfying experience.
I will definitely come again, then next time I\'m in Bangkok! |
